Angry Old People Make Me An Angry Old Person
So I ordered a Ham and Gruyere omelet
Today I ordered a Ham and Gruyere cheese omelet at a local restaurant near my house. This is significant because usually when I eat at this restaurant, I order what I call my traditional breakfast of two eggs over medium, potatoes, bacon, and an English muffin.
What prompted me to make such a radical change to my habits?
Earlier in the day, I was meeting some friends at a coffee shop for some pleasant conversation and a cup of dark roast coffee. I frequent this shop about 2 or 3 times a week.
Every time I go for coffee there is another older man that meets his friends as well. The man likes to sit in the same seat every day. He and his friends sit and talk politics as if it is the only meaningful subject left in their lives.
This day when the man came into the coffee shop there was a young man already seated in his favorite spot. From the look on his face, you could see the stress. He was angry.
He found another seat only a few feet away, but his dissatisfaction was apparent. He even complained out loud that the young man was working on a laptop computer which meant he was tying up the seat longer than necessary.
